When we think of animals to be scared of, I think bears and 50-foot-long snakes attacking Jennifer Lopez come to mind first. But, not to make you paranoid or anything, there are far less noticeable creatures that are a hundred times more vicious–and poisonous.
Dark Roasted Blend contributor M. Christian published a recent article about the deadliest creatures on the planet that are the easiest to miss. These animals do their lurking anywhere from the depths of the ocean and in the tiniest crevices of the jungle.
Many of us already know about the powerful excretions of the Poison Dart Frog’s skin (sometimes referred to as the Poison Arrow Frog) that can kill in a matter of minutes, but what about the hair caterpillars in the jungles of Brazil? The venom in the quill-like hairs covering their bodies is actually an anticoagulant that will break down the structure of human blood and, well, kill you in a matter of minutes.
There’s also the beaked sea snake that lives in the depths of the Persian Gulf. It only takes approximately 1.5 milligrams of this snake’s venom to kill, but the meat is a delicacy in places like Hong Kong and Singapore.
For more information and visuals of what creatures to stay away from when you’re out and about (in the jungle or ocean, yes), read the full article here.
