House Full Of Demons? Lawsuit Time!

Posted 3/31/2008 11:45 am by

exorcist-regan.jpgLet’s say you run across the deal of a lifetime.  A beautiful modern house with all the furnishings included, right down to the coffee cups, for €120,000 (that’s $189,000 or so).  Well, you’d probably think it’s too good to be true, right?  I know I would.  Well, our prudent behavior is what separates us from the Bastianelli family of Spoleto, Italy, who plunked down almost $200,000 on a home that is infested with evil spirits.  As a result, they’re taking the previous owners to court.

These details are just too good to pass up.  This house is straight out of every bad horror film ever made!  Every cliché involving exorcisms and evil spirits is included, with the added wrinkle that Italian law allows you to sue a home’s previous owners if they fail to reveal a crucial defect to you.  I’d say ‘demonic infestation’ is a pretty big defect in an otherwise beautiful home, wouldn’t you?

Here’s hoping they get their money back and find a home that’s infested with less evil.  You can put down traps and bait, but for every demonic spirit you see, there’s 100 demonic spirits you don’t see.  They’re like roaches, but infinitely more troublesome as roaches don’t throw furniture around.  Even if they can’t get rid of the house and get their money back, they could always make a fortune renting the place out to ghost hunters.

SpaceX Rocket A Last-Second Scrub
