The former “Tree Man of Java,” Dede Kosawa, is experiencing life for the first time thanks to the efforts of the physicians at the Hasan Sadikin Provincial Hospital. It has taken an incredible nine surgeries, but Dede is now 95% wart free and the former “Tree Man” is now able to walk without pain, see his fingers and toes, grip a pen, use a cellular phone, feed himself, and do all the things that you and I take for granted. He had over 14 pounds of warts removed from his body in total.
What’s next for Mr. Kosawa? He plans on celebrating Ramadan with his family, go back to get the remaining few warts removed, and after that? Well, what would anybody want to do after undergoing such a radical series of surgeries? According to the Telegraph’s intervew, “What I really want first is to get better and find a job. But then, one day, who knows? I might meet a girl and get married.”It’s great to see just how far Mr. Kosawa has come in such a short time. Check out his before pictures from April right here.
From a death sentence to a nearly-complete recovery! While he may relapse or develop warts again, doctors say his condition will never be life threatening again. After getting 14 pounds of growths removed, I’d imagine a few touch-up surgeries would be nothing to the now ex-Tree Man. I think we can all wish him the best of luck in the future.
