There’s one candy associated with Easter more than any other. The little yellow chick or pink bunny confection made of sugar and awesomeness, the Marshmallow Peep. Some people love them and think they’re the greatest candy on earth. (I am one of these people.) Some people can’t stand them. (These people are evil and cannot be trusted.) Love them or hate them, Peeps are far more than candy. They’re used in everything from design contests like the annual Seattle Times Peeps contest, the Chicago Tribune’s Peeps On Parade, the inventive Peep dioramas found at Mental Floss, or for acting out horrible death scenes as pointed out by Newscoma. Even the American Bar Association Journal is getting in on the fun with Peeps In Law!
Every Peep person has their own way of eating Peeps. I’m partial to stale Peeps. Others freeze them. Some people freeze stale Peeps. Some people microwave them. Some bite the heads off first, while others start at the feet. No matter how you take your confection, there really is no wrong way to eat a Peep. (Sorry, Reece’s.)
After you’ve had your fill of candy, why not decorate some Easter Eggs?
