I like the use of normal, every day things for unusual artsy purposes.  Take, for example, Vlad Artazov’s incredible series of pictures where he turns bent nails into pieces of art.  It’s easy to see how Alice and Kev could be used to create a free-flowing story based on the random decisions of a video game engine, but who would have thought that bent nails could be so expressive of love, joy, sorrow, and adoration?

I never thought I’d say this, but some of those bent nails are incredibly sad.  It’s the combination of the scene, the way the images are captured, and even the bend of the nails themselves that just evokes so much feeling.  I can only imagine the effort it took to bend each nail properly to evoke these feelings.  I guess to get specific bends you’d have to use a blowtorch?
