Pity poor Lionel the lobster. Not only do people routinely capture and eat his clawed lobster brethren, just when he thought he found a perfect home, the Royal Navy tried to take it from him. Lionel gave one of the brutes a nasty nip, but it was to no avail. Divers rigged explosives to Lionel’s home and blew it up with him inside, just because Lionel happened to live inside a 600-pound WWII-era mine.
It’s a shame they couldn’t get Lionel to leave his home. Being blown up is no way to go out for any living thing. It would’ve been nice had he found a nice place to live in an aquarium thanks to his new-found fame, but it’s not as if you can leave a bomb laying around in the harbor, just waiting to detonate some random cargo ship full of drugs.
