In news that will make Tony Montana happy, cops in Naples, Florida are on the lookout for drugs. No, they’re not cracking down on drug traffickers, they’re cracking down on forgetful cops. A pair of senior officers, who train the K9 units that search for contraband, lost a baggie full of cocaine from their training kit sometime in April, and the search has been on ever since.
The pair were staying in a hotel room with their training dogs when the officers were called out to the scene of a crime. When they returned, the dogs had trashed the hotel room. The officers say they were more focused on cleaning up the room than they were on getting all their drugs stored away, but that seems like a cover-up to me.
Think about it. It’s the classic rock band from the 70’s story. You walk the white line and then trash your hotel room. They don’t want to admit they let a couple of police dogs get coked up! It’s like that episode of Family Guy when Brian gets hooked on drugs as a police drug dog and has to go into rehab! Just imagine the damage a couple of coked-up German Shepherds could do!
