Lots of artists have been inspired by real people, but sculptor Adam Beane takes it a step farther. Despite having only been a sculptor since 2002, he produces some of the best, most photo-realistic toy-sized sculptures I have ever seen. Take a look; these things are incredible! Just look at that detail!
From the lines on the brows to Simon Pegg’s receding, pointy hairline, Beane has the two stars of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz absolutely nailed, doesn’t he? And look how small the heads are!
When you add in the work he does with bodies, like the soccer players he sculpted in motion, it’s just a masterful piece of art that any toy company would love to be able to market as a collectible. That’s why he’s worked as the master craftsman for Plan B, McFarlane Toys, Hasbro, and SOTA. It’s amazing just how good he is, and how successful he’s been in such a short time. I wish I could get him to sculpt a toy-sized version of me!
