For any child of the 80’s, there are two characters who you’ll recognize right away. One of them is a hamburger-selling clown named Ronald McDonald. His restaurant’s not doing so well, but he’s still out there slinging Happy Meals to kids like crazy. Another character who disappeared for awhile, but who is coming back is Teddy Ruxpin. He was a bear that read stories to kids via a tape deck secreted away in his tummy.
Well, imagine if Teddy and Ronald were reinvented as horror movie stars. That’s the idea behind the videos Happy Meal (seen below) and Teddy Saw. One of these videos filters the friendly clown through and Alexandre Aja movie, and the other turns a cuddly literacy bear into Billy the Saw Puppet. I will warn you, there is blood and terror in the video below (and some bad language in Teddy Saw), but it’s all in good Halloween fun!
When I was a kid, my best friend’s sisters had one of those, and it was always fun to put a Michael Jackson tape in it and make Teddy sing along to Bad or Thriller. Now I guess I’m glad that Teddy Ruxpin is gone, because I don’t want to be tortured to death like the poor sap in that video!
