Brandon Spikes, Florida’s stellar linebacker, must be a fan of the Three Stooges. I mean, you can see their influence in the way he plays football. That’s the only explanation I can come up with for his Curly impression this Saturday when he tried to poke Georgia running back Washaun Ealey in the eyes at the bottom of a pile. Hey Mo! Soitenly! Nyuk-nyuk-nyuk!
Spikes is getting a suspension for the action. That’s right, he’s sitting for half of a game next week, when the Gators take on the hapless Vanderbilt Commodores. I’m sure the Southeastern Conference will make sure it’s a full game (at least).
Here’s the video of Spikes getting gougey with it.
All Ealey had to do was put up his hand and he would’ve blocked the double eye-poke move. Then he could’ve asked Spikes to hold out a fist, bop the fist with his own hand, and Spikes would clonk himself on the top of the head. They’d play the sound of birds over the loudspeaker, and Ealey could drop to the ground and do the Curly Shuffle.
