You might want to dismiss Dr. Drew Pinsky, star of such TV shows as Loveline and Sober House, as nothing more than one of those puffed-up TV doctors, like Dr. Phil or Dr. Laura. However, that would be a mistake, because Dr. Drew is a real medical doctor, and he can add lifesaver to his list of accolades and accomplishments. After all, he saved someone’s life this weekend.
This weekend, while watching his son’s Pasadena Polytechnic football team play, a young man named Jackson Allan took a nasty hit to the head and had to come out of the game. Initially, he was fine. Once he got to the bench, though, he lapsed into a coma due to bleeding on the brain. Dr. Drew rushed into action, administering CPR and keeping the boy alive until doctors could rush him to the hospital and perform emergency brain surgery.
Good for you, Dr. Drew! I’ll never say another dismissive thing about your reality shows again! (I’m secretly a fan, shhh!)
