You know, for a guy that’s written about the Large Hadron Collider so much, I’m not really sure I understand. I mean, I vaguely get what it’s supposed to do, but the actualities of the thing? Not so much. All I know is that it’s expensive and fragile. The geniuses at CERN need to dumb it down for me, and by dumb it down, I mean dumb it way down and add a lot of pretty pictures for me to look at. I think the Large Hadron Collider pop-up book is just my speed.
The book is called Voyage to the Heart of Matter-The Atlas Experiment at CERN by Emma Sanders, with illustration crafted by Anton Radevsky. It looks absolutely gorgeous, doesn’t it? It’s sold out at Amazon, but maybe publishers Papadakis are preparing a second run thanks to the public’s insatiable demand for all things LHC-related.
