The best thing about holidays is that you get to eat a lot of food you don’t normally get to eat. I mean, really; how often do you get to chow down on turkey, dressing, gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, and, of course, several kinds of pie? That’s definitely pretty rare, right? Especially on Thanksgiving, people pull out all the stops for holiday dinner, but there are some dishes that should be put on the scrap heap of history.
The 100-proof turkey is a relatively new food, but I can see why you’d consider it odd. And some things, like the anchovy turkey, are definitely awful food ideas. However, the idea of the three-part pie? Sheer brilliance. Combining apple, pumpkin, and pecan pies all in the same serving tray is the kind of customized dessert idea I can really support.
If it were me? I’d want pumpkin, pecan, and sweet potato pie in the same tin. Those are my three favorite kind of holiday pies, and I don’t like the idea of mixing a fruity pie like an apple pie with a more custard-based pie like pumpkin.
