Prisoners have a lot of time on their hands.  Apparently in England, prisoners can raise plants.  If you’re a convicted drug dealer, then I guess you grow what you know.  One prisoner in Portland, Dorset, managed to successfully conceal a marijuana plant by decorating it with Christmas ornaments.  And people say smoking pot makes you dumber!

Apparently, the prisoner had convinced guards that the distinctive marijuana bush was a tomato plant, and he had deceived them so long that the plant had gotten to be four feet high.   I don’t know a lot about pot, but I know a lot about tomato plants, and I know they definitely don’t look anything like reefer.  How guards never got curious as to the lack of BLT-worthy tomatoes on the plants I could never guess, but inmates in the prison had also built matchstick models used to conceal other contraband.

I’d guess prison guards aren’t the sharpest tools in the law enforcement shed.
