Everyone is looking for a way to make their profile a little greener. Most people believe that the earth is in trouble; even if you don’t, going green is a great way to save yourself a little money by reducing your energy costs, reusing old materials, and that sort of thing. However, the holidays aren’t traditionally the greenest of times, so LifeScoop has 5 easy ways to green up your holidays.
A lot of these tips are pretty obvious, but some I never really thought of. I mean, I knew about LED lights being big money savers in your eyelashes or on your dress, but I’d never really considered solar lights as an option for my outside decorations. Given that we get about 4 hours of sunlight a day during winter, that might be a better idea for summer, but I know we can all recycle our wrapping paper and packing materials.
Of course, in my family, we’ve been recycling our Christmas containers for years. Except when we started, it was called “being cheap” and not “going green.” That’s why every year we see the same holiday gift bags and the same Zayre garment boxes we’ve been seeing for 20 years or longer.
