The gingerbread house is a holiday staple. While I don’t know anyone that actually makes them, they’re always on TV so I figure someone out there is making homes from gingerbread. That said, they’re always pretty standard-looking houses; there’s never anything wild. But what would it look like if gingerbread houses were designed by modern architects? That’s what Vancouver, Canada-based art collective Creative Room did, and the results are some spectacularly sweet and delicious gingerbread dwellings.
I love creative food art and while the fruit-based London was sweet, there’s nothing as good as junk food. Especially in winter, there’s nothing more I crave than something sweet and fresh from the oven. The worse for me, the better!
For example, lately, I’ve been munching on a bucket of Christmas goodies some friends of mine made for me, but I’m almost out of snacks. No more white-chocolate peppermint brittle, no more bourbon balls, and no more gingersnaps. Of the many sweets I associate with holidays, my favorite things are probably bourbon balls, with gingersnaps being my favorite cookie.
