It’s one of the most famous, and in my opinion, best Christmas movies ever made. It’s the 1989 comedy National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, and for years it’s been a must-watch for me at Christmas time. No matter how Grinch-like I might be feeling, it helps to flick on the TV and watch the Griswold family’s holiday from hell. Now, thanks to Hooked on Houses, you can take a tour of the house from Christmas Vacation.
Now, it’s not a real tour, because it’s not a real house. The interiors were done in a studio, but the exterior is fascinating. It’s located on Blondie Street, which is a neighborhood of movie sets on the Burbank, California backlot of Warner Brothers Studio. You can take a virtual tour of Blondie Street here. It’s amazing. There are 12 homes and a park in the area, and some of the homes have actual practical interiors! It’s amazing to think that Samantha from Bewitched, Lt. Murtaugh from Lethal Weapon, and Clark W. Griswold all live in the same neighborhood!
