Jo-Jo Marsh and her husband Jacob Bartels are both big fans of tattoos. You know what they say; like parents like children! That’s why, after what had to be significant begging on the part of the kids, they got tattoos. Six of the couple’s seven kids got homemade tattoos, courtesy of Jacob and a homemade tattooing device composed mostly of guitar strings and ink. Imagine Jo-Jo’s surprise when she got arrested by Chattooga County, Georgia, police.
In theory, her reasoning about her surprise makes sense. I mean, she is their parent. She can give them permission to get tattoos done. At best, the two could get misdemeanor charges of doing tattooing without a license and not in a legal tattoo parlor, and maybe something additional for using nontraditional equipment. Tattooing a child is also a misdemeanor, according to Georgia tattoo law. None of it adds up to child cruelty; so let’s not cheapen the standard of abuse like this. It’s a little X, not a face tattoo.
