As a kid, I was always told that playing video games are bad for my eyes. Too much staring at the TV, or the computer screen, or whatever the source of my electronic stimulation was. While my eyes are fine, a Chinese man by the name of Xu suffered the ultimate penalty for his video game addiction: he went blind after a four-day gaming binge. He went to a cyber cafe after a fight with his wife and four days later, he can’t see. Yeesh.
Doctor’s say Xu’s blindness is only temporary, and that it might be a side effect from his not sleeping for four days. Not sleeping causes a host of health problems. As for Xu and his video gaming, it sounds to me like he needs a stint in rehab before he leaves his wife for a video game character. Odds are it was the super-addictive World of Warcraft.
