We’re all familiar with the standard hallmarks of cigarette smoke. Cancer, emphysema, bad breath, yellowing teeth and hands, stinky clothe… the list goes on and on. That’s why so many countries are trying to ban cigarettes. However, one Indonesian man discovered an unusual risk associated with smoking: the cigarettes might explode and blow six of your teeth out!
Andi Susanto was riding on a motorcycle, enjoying a Clas Mild cigarette made by PT Nojorono Tobacco, and boom, the smoke just blew up in his mouth. PT Nojorono forked over 5 million rupiah (about $535) to replace Susanto’s teeth while both sides work to settle the complaint, and both the makers and police are investigating, but so far nobody can determine why Susanto’s cancer stick turned into a stick of dynamite.
For the record, Susanto has decided to try and give up smoking. Apparently keeping your face attached is more important than looking cool and feeding your addiction. The threat of instant death is more powerful than the threat of eventual death, I suppose.
