One of the greatest tragedies in traffic accident history happened yesterday in Kent, near Folkestone on the M20 heading towards London. An articulated truck carrying a load of beer from Carlsberg and Budweiser overturned, spilling out thousands of cans of beer and blocking traffic for over an hour as officials shut down the road and attempted to gather up all the spilled shipment of bone-strengthening lager. Oh the humanity!
The road was reopened after the beer was picked up, and no one was hurt in the accident, but I’d imagine a lot of stranded commuters got arrested for violating open container laws and DUI after pitching in and doing their civic duty by helping to clean up the mess. After all, many hands make light work, and beer can get pretty expensive. While I’m not a huge fan of Carlsberg or Budweiser, I’m a big fan of free anything, so you know I’d have filled up my trunk.
