It’s kind of like that old movie with Ray Milland and Rosie Grier, The Thing With Two Heads. Only in this case, rather than some kind of weird science experiment in life-saving and head grafting, you’ve got a weird animal mutation that has resulted in a two-headed bobtail skink, or Shingleback. The two-heade little critter was found by by workers in a reptile park in Coogee, New South Wales, and has been sent to Henley Brook animal park in Perth. Two-headed animals generally don’t live very long, and this lizard is expected to eventually fight itself to death.
This isn’t a case where a creature has one head that doesn’t really work. This skink has two heads and two sets of forearms, all of which work. However, weirdly, the larger of the two heads doesn’t like the smaller of the two heads, so the creature is constantly trying to fight itself! How strange is that?!
