Say what you will about the iPad, it’s selling like crazy. In fact, right now, the iPad is selling a mind-numbing 200,000 units per week, significantly more than Apple’s Macintosh computer line and almost as many as the iPhone. If these sales hold up, Apple will move at least 8 million iPads this year, and might even sell 10 million iPads. Could the iPad be a bigger seller than the iPhone before all is said and done?
Think about it: the iPad has already sold a million units. We’re nowhere near the holiday sales season. If they can move a million iPads in April, and move 200,000 a week in May, how many of those do you think they’re going to sell in November and December? Black Friday alone should be a huge boon to Apple’s product sales.
I never thought the iPad would be this big, or sell this much this soon. Then again, I also didn’t think it’d be under $1000 thanks to Apple’s history of overcharging for underachieving devices. There’s no way the average Apple is worth what it costs, parts-wise. You’re paying for the OS and the name. Not that it’s not a great OS, but it’s not worth an extra $1000 per desktop.
