One of the irritants in life is the speed trap camera. I don’t mind getting caught speeding by a cop, but to get caught speeding by some kind of lame electronic eye in the sky? That’s just laziness on the part of the police department, and a naked cash grab. Brian McCrary agrees, which is why after he got a $90 speeding ticket from the Bluff City Police Department in Bluff City, Tennessee, he found a way to get his revenge. On May 22, the police department let their domain name, BluffCityPD.com, lapse. Brian bought the Bluff City Police’s web domain and turned it into an anti-Bluff City PD website!
Beware the geek, for he is mighty when angered and he understands things the likes of which no man is meant to comprehend! I’ve never driven through Bluff City, but I’ve driven through Tennessee enough to know that setting up speed traps is about the only thing they do down there. I also know how rare it is for small-town cops to be web savvy, so I’m not surprised they only had one guy managing the website, and that when he went out sick they were helpless to keep their domain registered.
