Jeff Colucy and his beloved Weimaraner were walking through the parking lot of an office fixtures business in Columbus, Ohio, when the dog’s powerful instincts took over and it went on alert near a puddle. Colucy investigated what the dog was so interested in, and as it turns out, the canine had spotted and captured a four-foot-long alligator hiding in a puddle! Yeah, in northern Ohio, of all places you could find a random gator.
The police were called, and they further called in animal wrangler Chris Law. Law, who often works with law enforcement, made the weird situation even stranger by catching the massive alligator with his bare hands because, as he said, all his gear was put away because he was about to leave for vacation. Then again, Law doesn’t really need gear to capture a gator, since he grabs about 40 of them a year. Young alligators are often bought as pets, then dumped when they get to be too big to handle.
