It’s one of the weirdest things I’ve ever heard, and no doubt it was even weirder to the poor police officers who had to investigate it. Apparently, a man in a leprechaun costume was cavorting in a Boulder, Colorado, grocery store parking lot, dancing around, making finger-gun hand gestures at people, and possibly making obscene gestures.
As Boulder Police Department Sgt. Fred Gerhardt put it, the man was “acting bizarrely.” I wonder what the first clue was… was it when he was hiding behind parked cars and hopping around, was it the finger-guns, or was it, perhaps, the fact that he was dressed like a leprechaun? Police responding to the call didn’t find anyone matching the description, but a police sketch artist released the above photo of what the suspect might look like.
Anyone spotting the leprechaun is advised to tackle him and take his pot of gold immediately, as is the right of anyone capturing any wild leprechaun. That’ll be sure to give you a good St. Patrick’s Day next year!
