The free agency signing of six-time NBA All-Star LeBron James is the biggest thing that will happen in the NBA in recent memory. There’s never been a free agent this skilled that’s ever been this up for grabs. Literally every other team in the NBA has been clearing salary cap space and dumping contracts in an attempt to clear up space enough to sign King James, and it’s obvious that the attention is going to his head a bit. After all, why else would LeBron James announce his signing choice in a one-hour television special to air at 9PM Thursday on ESPN?
Aside from the LeBron James ’68 Comeback Special, there’s also the fact that James has started up his official website again and joined Twitter. You can follow him at KingJames, if you so wish. All of this suggests that there’s something changing in the LBJ camp, and it’s not a good sign for Cleveland. Or maybe it is a sign that James is willing to raise his profile in other ways without leaving his home state of Ohio?
Your guess is as good as mine when it comes to James’ motivations, but I guess we’ll all find that out at 9 PM on Thursday during the LeBron James ESPN special.
