If you’re hungry and aren’t willing to eat some vending machine caviar for $15, then investor Travis L. Wright has a great idea for you: why not try a sandwich in a can? The Canwich, which is a canned sandwich that is stored in vending machines and needs no refrigeration, has hit vending machines in the Salt Lake City area of Utah and, the inventors hope, will spread across the nation like a jelly-and-bread tsunami. I have to say, the sandwich looks tasty, even if I’m horrified by the idea of eating a can of sandwich for lunch.
There are three flavors available at the moment: peanut butter and grape jelly, peanut butter and strawberry jelly, and barbecue chicken. Already announced are pepperoni pizza and French toast flavors of Canwich, which is manufactured by Mark One Foods. I mean, the idea is kind of stomach-churning, but people eat all kinds of stuff from vending machines (including sandwiches), so who am I to turn my nose up at a little uncrushable food on the go?
Maybe it’s actually good; I mean, I’ll eat peanut butter with any kind of jam (even Princess Di’s hair jam), so why not?
