Just call them Miami Thrice. The King and his Court. Cerberus. Whatever you want to call them, LeBron James has made his decision and thrown his lot in with some friends, namely fellow free agent Chris Bosh and Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade, to form a new super team on South Beach. It was announced last night during LeBron James: The Decision, that one-hour celebration of reckless narcissism televised live on ESPN.
These are two of the best players in the NBA in the person of James and Wade, and a great lower-level star in terms of the relatively unknown Bosh (who played this out well to raise his profile). Who is going to lead the team? Who plays point guard? Who else could this team sign to fill out the roster? If I’m an NBA player and I want a ring, does Miami become my first choice over LA or Orlando?
More importantly, does this kill basketball in permanently-miserable Cleveland? Does this make Team USA (everyone pictured above except Carmelo Anthony…yet) an even better squad, since three of the team’s top players will be playing together full-time? Will they even co-exist without a blow-up? Who knows!
