Professional chef Edwin Kramer and his copilot Peter Kuttel (AKA the Frying Dutchmen) are some charitable men. The two men are planning to make the drive from London to Mongolia as part of the 2010 Mongol Rally, and it’s all for charity. Specifically, the two men will donate any money raised from their rally to the Mongolian charity Children And Young People’s Protection And Development and the UK charity Save The Children. Also, once they arrive in Mongolia, they’ll donate their vehicle (an 18-year-old German ambulance) to a local hospital. Also, the whole time they’re driving? They’ll eat nothing but Spam for the entire month.
That’s right, while the ambulance itself will be a mobile kitchen for Kramer to prepare food for host families and locals in exchange for support on the way, the men themselves will subsist on the most delicious of canned meats. No, not unicorn meat, just simple canned ham. Knock it if you must, but you can make a lot of dishes from Spam.
