I’ve been looking at houses like crazy, but lately I’ve branched out into also checking out condos. While I don’t like the idea of monthly maintenance fees, I do like the idea of not having to pay for most normal maintenance to the building, not having to take care of the grounds, and not having to take care of much in my unit. For someone who is hesitant to take on home improvement projects myself, it might be the thing to do. Also, right now? There are condos on the market that cost less than a new car (we’re talking a generic sedan like the Toyota Corolla, not a nice car).
Of course, there’s a catch. Condos have only depreciated so far in certain areas, like Las Vegas and Miami, where there are tons of condos and pretty much nobody looking for a condo at the moment. However, if you’ve always wanted a Vegas dream condo, now you can buy one for under Chevy Volt prices; there are 200 Vegas condos listed for under $30,000 as we speak!
If only I could find one of these where I want to live, then I’d be set. Sure, they’re a little generic and the rules of the condo association can be restrictive, but no cutting grass!
