There’s nothing more dangerous to an animal than your car’s engine block. Animals love warmth, and when they’re small, they need to stay warm to survive. Granted, it’s 90-something degrees outside, so I’m not sure why a 5-week-old Siamese kitten ended up behind the grill of a Mazda, but he was there. The kitten survived a 3-hour, 130-mile trip from Rochester, New York, to Ulster, Pennsylvania, stuck behind the grill of a Mazda.
“It took more than 45 minutes just to get the grill off the Mazda before they could reach the kitten,” said Bradford County Humane Society spokeswoman Jenna Arsenault. “Once the kitten was removed from the car, he was immediately given water and a cool place to rest while they contacted BCHS to help figure out the best course of action.”
Mazda will be available for adoption once he’s old enough. The coyote stuck in the grill of a car could not be found for comment. The indestructible grill-smashing owl, when asked about the kitten, merely licked his lips hungrily.
