There’s nothing quite like a Krispy Kreme doughnut. When that “Hot Doughnuts Now” sign is on, you know it’s time to stop and indulge your sweet tooth. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, or every meal, doughnuts are the best. That’s why we celebrate them with their own day. As is turns out, doughnut companies are also generous, as one Krispy Kreme Doughnuts gave a lucky customer $5,000 in cash during the morning rush hour.
Technically, the store didn’t give away the money so much as lost it. The $5,000 was the night deposit of the Krispy Kreme in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and that box was meant to go with the manager to the bank, not meant to go to a customer. Unsurprisingly, the customer hasn’t come forward to return the store’s money. Can’t say I blame him for that one, $5,000 is a lot of money and I’m not sure I’d be able to take it back myself in this current economic climate.
Plus, he paid for his box of doughnuts and didn’t get them, so surely he’s entitled to some restitution!
