North Korea, one of the world’s most restrictive dictatorships, doesn’t allow its citizens to use the Internet. However, that doesn’t stop the government from using the Internet. Weirdly, North Korea has taken to Twitter and YouTube to promote their official website, Uriminzokkiri. You can follow North Korea’s state Twitter account at Twitter.com/Uriminzok if you so wish. Of course, it displays in all gibberish since it’s typed in Korean, but hey, you can still follow!
Interestingly enough, North Korea is taking a page from China’s playbook and has not only started a positive PR campaign, they’ve also started their own hacker army. According to reports, they’re the country behind a cyber-attack on South Korean websites and US news agencies last year. They’ve vehemently denied this on their website, and have struck out at other US and South Korean interests as well.
Much like a real blogger, they have no money and use their powers mostly for criticizing the cool kids and complaining about how unfair life is! Welcome to the club, North Korea!
