Brennan S. Eden is the luckiest, and dumbest, criminal in the world right now. While behind the wheel of a classic Pontiac Firebird, he decided to do his best Smokey and the Bandit impression and evade the police so he could avoid arrest on charges of speeding and reckless driving and whatnot. However, what he didn’t take into account is that the Firebird is more car than he can handle. The 19-year-old, from Mason, Ohio, lost control of his car at 100 miles-an-hour, ran into the ditch, went 20 feet into the air, and smashed into the support post of a bridge in what is the most spectacular car wreck ever caught on film.
“He is very lucky to still be alive at this point,’ said Ohio State Highway Patrol Lieutenant Marty Fellure. “You can see behind me the impact he took and where he got ejected and landed, he’s a very fortunate man right now.” That’s right, somehow he survived that wreck. He was alert and conscious when he was picked up by police, and now he’s in the hospital, in critical condition. Given the severity of the wreck, he’s lucky they weren’t scraping pieces of him off the road.
