Is it tasteless or tasty? It depends on your opinion on cannibalism. A new restaurant, Flime, which opened in Berlin in December, is looking for donations. They don’t need money; they want your meat. The restaurant is taking donations of human flesh (and seeks an open-minded surgeon for a staff position) to facilitate the cooking and consumption of human flesh on the premises. It’s a joke, of course, but that won’t stop the local politicos from getting up in arms over it.
“I am assuming it is a misguided joke,” said Christian Democrat parliment representative Michael Braun, who like most politicians is forbidden from having a sense of humor. “But it is disgusting, in particular because a resident of Berlin was murdered by a cannibal not too long ago.” The cannibal mentioned is a man named Armin Meiwes, who butchered and ate a volunteer he met on the internet, Bernd Jürgen Brandes. He’s pretty notorious, and undoubtedly a presence on the pages of the 2010 serial killers calendar.
