Sometimes, it’s hard to turn your viral video success into legitimate money, but that hasn’t been a problem for Paul “Bear” Vasquez. The organic-farming former cage fighter and firefighter from Mariposa, California, shot to fame as the double rainbow guy, a hugely popular viral video in which Bear, on one of his many swimming trips to Yosemite National Park, captures a double rainbow in euphoric ecstasy. Now, Bear’s reenacting the double rainbow freakout in a Microsoft ad.
Yes, it seems a bit strange for Bear to team up with Microsoft, but money is money, and I imagine Bear could use some new cut-off tee shirts and jean shorts. Plus, as the ad shows, the Windows Live Photo Gallery’s photo stitch feature could actually prove to be useful for capturing those full-on double rainbows, no matter how far across the sky they stretch. Besides, most PC users going to be moving to Google Chrome OS when it comes out, so go with who is going to pay you.
