It’s a sign of the times and a sign of a man in the depths of some serious personal problems. Actor Randy Quaid, known as the crazy uncle Eddie in the National Lampoon’s Vacation series of movies, and his wife Evi Quaid were arrested over the weekend in a luxurious neighborhood in Montecito, California. The Quaids were arrested on charges of trespassing, as police allege Quaid and his wife were squatting in their former home. The Quaids also did several thousand dollars’ worth of damage to the home.
This isn’t the first brush with the law this year for Randy, the actor brother of Dennis Quaid. Earlier, he and his wive were arrested over unpaid hotel bills as a California hotel. Randy’s biggest fault was that he was squatting in a luxury home; people tend to notice things like that, even if you did used to live there before the bank foreclosed or whatever. You can live for weeks inside a library, if you’re smart about when you come out of hiding.
