When it comes to normal, domestic cats, you can’t beat a Maine Coon for sheer size. Yes, there are exotic breeds that are quite large, but for normal, standard cats and not hybrid animals like Scarlett’s Magic? It’s Maine Coon or nothing. These things are huge, woolly, beautiful animals, and there’s no Maine Coon that’s larger than Stewie. Seriously, Stewie, a 5-year-old Maine Coon, is the world’s longest domestic cat.
From the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail, Stewie is 48.5 inches long. That’s 4 FEET long. Stewie’s Guinness World Records appearance is due to his owners in Reno, Nevada, Robin Hendrickson and Erik Brandsness. After many, many comments from visitors and guests who were amazed by Stewie’s size, they had him measured. Sure enough, Stewie is a real-life version of Longcat.
Plus, he’s adorable. How often do you see a huge, adorable animal? Usually, adorable things are tiny and cute, or have some interesting genetic quirk, but not Stewie.
