It’s a full-service fitness center. We’re talking massages, counseling, nutritionists, trainers, and even medical staff all team up to encourage weight loss and develop positive training techniques to improve health and well-being. Unfortunately, this deal isn’t for humans; only those with four legs need apply. It’s a full-service, indoor, air-conditioned dog gymnasium called Arizona Dog Sports, located in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Also offered at Arizona Dog Sports is positive training for the unrulier canine in the group. “We focus on positive training,” said founder Layne Kizler. “We don’t jerk the dog. There’s no choke collar. We teach the way you and I would want to learn. Ninety-nine percent of dogs are trainable with positive techniques.”
The gym came about after Kizler had discussions about the lack of air conditioned facilities for animals in the city. Especially during summer, the outdoors can be completely impassible for both man and beast in Arizona, and this way dogs of all sizes and breeds get their exercise without the owners getting heat stroke. This way, everyone wins and nobody gets run over.
