When you’re going to shoplift, the key is to be as inconspicuous as possible. See the case of Louis Lorensen and do the exact opposite of what he did. The 58-year-old criminal was caught shoplifting 11 packages of meat from a Winn-Dixie store in Palm Beach, Florida. Rather than give in when caught, Louis Lorensen hopped on a motorized shopping cart and attempted to escape from the grocery store. Motorized shopping carts travel, at best, 3 miles an hour, making it one of the lowest low-speed chases in history.
“I ain’t no punk, and I ain’t going down without a fight,” yelled Lorensen in the initial stages of his flee from store authorities. Later, after the police arrived and cuffed the man, he exclaimed, “When you take these cuffs off, I’m going to punch you in the face!”
Not only does Lorensen face charges related to larceny, possession of stolen property, and resisting arrest, he also faces charges of aggravated battery on a child. In the run from store security, Lorensen ran over a four-year-old’s foot with the motorized cart. That’s just adding insult to injury!
