An armed gunman wearing a motorcycle helmet and an all-black motorcycle outfit walked into the Bellagio Hotel and Casino. He found a craps table where several people were playing at about 3:50 this morning. He pulled the gun, took all the chips and cash he could get his hands on from the people at the table, then rode away on his motorcycle. The motorcycle-helmet gunman stole $1.5 million dollars worth of chips from the Bellagio Casino.
This isn’t the first time this guy has robbed a casino, said Las Vegas police, who say the same man also robbed the cash cage at the Suncoast Hotel & Casino’s poker room on Thursday. Talk about your brazen criminals! To just walk into a place, pull out a gun, take the money, and then walk out? That’s guts. It’s not terribly smart, but it’s guts. Even though most average gamblers will ignore everything around them, he’s still got security to deal with.
The gunman is going to have a hard time getting most of his cash, says Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department spokesman Lt. Clint Nichols. “The industry has some safeguards in place that make that … extremely difficult,” said Lt. Nichols, referring to the $25,000 chips that were stolen by the gunman.
