Since its release, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has been Amazon’s best-selling product of all time. Harry Potter is an owl-endangering phenomenon, no doubt, and it’s reasonable that Amazon would sell so many copies considering Amazon’s ease of ordering and ability to preorder things well before their release date. However, Harry Potter has been sent back to school and a new product has become Amazon’s most popular product of all time. Interestingly enough, the product that passed Harry Potter on Amazon’s all-time sales list is something on which you can READ Harry Potter’s adventures. The Amazon Kindle e-reader has become Amazon.com’s best-selling product of all time.
Here’s the amazing thing. We’re not talking about the Kindle all time as Amazon’s best-selling product of all time, we’re talking about the third generation of Kindle as Amazon’s best-selling product of all time. We’re not even counting the first two generations of Kindle in the numbers! Amazon’s record-breaking Christmas 2009? Forget about it! Competition from other e-readers and tablet PCs? Not even an issue, according to Jeff Bezos.
“We’re seeing that many of the people who are buying Kindles also own an LCD tablet,” said Amazon’s founder in a statement. “Customers report using their LCD tablets for games, movies and Web browsing, and their Kindles for reading sessions.”
