Is it the end times, like the cartoon heads in the NMA bird death video suggest? Well, I wouldn’t go that far yet, but you have to admit it looks a little sketchy when you realize that the recent spate of animal deaths isn’t confined to just Arkansas. Several hundred miles from the site of the blackbird die-off, hundreds more birds in Louisiana have died under similar circumstances. As it turns out, the first week of the new year has resulted in thousands of animal deaths throughout the world, from flocks of birds dropping dead to fish kills.
The most interesting thing might be related to the fish kills. We heard about the 100,000 dead fish in Arkansas, but there are also hundreds of thousands of fish dead in Maryland and, on the other side of the world, several hundred tons of dead sardines have washed up on the shores of beaches in Brazil. Everything’s turning up dead, it seems; next thing you know they’ll find a dead flock of penguins in Antarctica and piles of dead radioactive boars in Germany.
