When the Mega Millions jackpot was the hot topic of discussion, it was noted that two winning tickets were sold, one in Idaho and one in Washington. Last Thursday, first of the two winners of the second-largest lottery jackpot in history stepped forward. Jim and Carolyn McCullar from Ephrata, Washington, won $190 million fro Mega Millions. The second winner of the jackpot, single mother Holly Lahti from Rathdrum, Idaho, has officially come forward to claim her $190-million-dollar prize.
The lucky Lahti bought her ticket at Ady’s Convenience & Car Wash in Post Falls, Idaho, near her former job at Inland Northwest Bank. She resigned from that job on Monday, for obvious reasons. Lahti, estranged from her husband of 10 years Josh Lahti, is a 29-year-old mother of two, with children ages 10 and 12. This is about all that is known of Lahti from public records; she’s doing her best to keep her privacy intact.
“She’s requested that the media respect her privacy and not attempt to contact her until she’s prepared to speak to you,” said Idaho Lottery Director Jeff Anderson. He described her as a “delightful young lady” and added, “We expect she’ll be coming forward shortly,” once she has her affairs in order.
