The biggest event of the Super Bowl evening for a significant portion of the audience isn’t the game, it’s the commercials.  As the sports pundits break down the game, the entertainment pundits are now actively breaking down the commercials and rating them from best to worst.  The experts are making their lists.  TV Squad has picked the best and worst of the 2011 Super Bowl season.  Here’s my favorite commercial from last night.  What do you think, gentle reader?

Aside from the Volkswagen:  The Force commercial and the Pepsi Max commercials, this year was a serious dud.  The good ads were few and far between this year.  This might be the worst year for Super Bowl television commercials ever, and that’s saying something.  There was no controversy in the Super Bowl ads this year, nothing spectacularly funny, and only the occasional creepy commercial.

However, there was a lot of random violence this year.  Random violence and movie commercials (and movie commercials with random violence, as the Transformers 3/Chevy commercial showed).  The commercials might have been more violent than the game!
