Since the iPad launched in April 2010, the device has taken off. According to Apple, the iPad has sold 14.8 million units of the device through a variety of retailers, and sales don’t seem to be slowing down. However, if you haven’t bought an iPad yet, you might want to wait awhile. Apple has started production of the iPad 2, according to the Wall Street Journal.
So what’s different about the iPad 2? Well, for one thing, it’ll have a faster processor and more memory. In addition, it adds a front and a rear camera for video conferencing, similar to the iPhone and iPod Touch’s front and rear camera arrays. Aside from that, there’s no real difference between the two, as the iPad 2 will use the same screen as the old iPads did.
The iPad 2 is expected to retail for the same price as the current iPad and will initially be available through Apple’s wireless partners, Verizon and AT&T.
