Did you think that America was the only country being pummeled by weird weather? Not so, my friends. While the US has been hit hard, South Korea has been hit harder. South Korea has been hit with the coldest January since the 1960’s, and to make matters worse, South Korea’s eastern region has been hit hard by blizzards. Gangwon Province was hit with 2.6 feet of snow in ONE DAY. That’s crazy talk!
Granted, records date back only to 1911, but still, that’s incredible. Gangwon is paralyzed by snow and the military has been called in to assist with the evacuation process and whatnot. Even in Seoul, which has been unaffected by the snow, hasn’t escaped the cold. The Han River in Seoul has frozen over for the first time in years. Fortunately, you’re not hearing a lot about roofs collapsing beneath the weight of the snow, which is great for the Koreans.
That said, there’s a ton of snow in that picture. I’m glad I don’t have to dig my way out of it!
