The plan was a good one, in theory.  Jerrie Perkins, a 30-year-old woman from Pontiac who weighs in the neighborhood of 400 pounds, was going to head to a nearby Meijer store in Rochester Hills, Michigan, and make off with a selection of electronics.  There’s just one problem with her plan:  fitting through the door.  Jerrie Perkins stole $600 worth of electronics, but failed to escape the store after her motorized cart got stuck in the door.  That’s right, a fat shoplifter got herself stuck in a store door and was apprehended.

Still, despite being too fat to walk, Jerrie Perkins is definitely not one to be trifled with.  When store security questioned her about setting off the alarm, she hit an employee.  When police arrived, Jerrie took a fighting stance (probably akin to a polar bear) and had to be Tasered until she submitted.  Police then arrested her.

I’ll be honest, I’m surprised she even felt the Taser, given her size and the relative lack of voltage in the Tasers used by police.  While latex paint doesn’t stop a Taser, fat can stop bullets.  Ms. Perkins is being held on $15,000 bond.
