The English rock band Radiohead seems determined to do things their own way, no matter what.  For example, their latest album was announced and preorders were taken, but a release date was never given.  Fans waited and waited for an announcement, but a sale date never came.  Instead, Radiohead surprised the world by releasing their new album King of Limbs today, in what appears to be an absolutely random decision.  Surprise!  Here’s the odd video for their first single.

Radiohead made waves by releasing their last album for free download, which turned out to be a success for In Rainbows.  Now they’re making waves by not even releasing a single before the album comes out and instead choosing to dump it all on the music-listening public at once.  Indeed, it’s not even available for sale in stores; if you want The King of Limbs, you have to download it directly from Radiohead’s website.  There’s also a collector’s edition record version, with a bunch of pretty cool special features; that version of the album won’t ship until Monday, May 9, but if you buy that version you can still download the new album.
